FAQ: Blinks Game System and Epic Adventure Expansion
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Are Blinks Durable?

Yes, they are drop tested in the same factory that LEGOs are produced… we think LEGOs are pretty durable (sorry ‘bout your feet).

Moreover, we’ve been carrying and playing with our early production Blinks for over a year and a half and they work just as well as the day we got them. The material used for the sides is technically bulletproof, and the top membrane which is soft to the touch does get marked up by finger nails over time, but this is only noticeable when not in use.

How are Blinks Powered?

Each Blink is powered by a single replaceable battery. More specifically, it uses a coin cell battery (Cr2032), which is the kind you find in a wristwatch or many key fobs, for example.

How Long to the Batteries Last

Blinks should run for 40+ hours of active gameplay. There are a lot of power-management features to extend battery life. Blinks go to sleep on their own after 10 minutes of inactivity, or can be forced to sleep with a “sleeper hold”

Can I make my own games for Blinks?

Yes. Developer tools will be available in the pledge manager and all Blinks are reprogrammable. We even sell Blinks without games on them called “Blanks” that you can store yet to be released games on.

In addition to being open-source, we put a lot of thought and time into making them incredibly easy to begin programming with. Blinks can be a great way to learn how to code.

Are their developer kits available?

Yes! Blinks are incredibly developer friendly. They are available on our website and will be available after the Kickstarter campaign in our pledge manager. The Dev Tools are $49 and include everything you need to make your own games for Blinks. Additional Blanks are available for storing new games or even distributing a game you made to play test with your friends and family. (See Blanks below for details)

In addition to the Dev Tools, we’ll also have the 6-Pack and 12-Pack Developer Kits, which are bundled developer tools with Blanks to keep your games on and Sushi Roll cases to bring them anywhere you go.

Do you Ship Internationally?

Yes, we’ve shipped all over the world. Shipping will be calculated in the pledge manager and based on our previous campaigns most international orders will be in the $25 - $35 range. If you think you might be an outlier, just send us a message!

What are these "Blanks" I hear about?

“Blanks” are Blinks without games on them. We sell them in addition to Blinks to allow you to play games at literally any scale. There is no limit to the number of Blinks you can connect. Blanks are perfect for the family that wants to play together or host a party and they are also the place for developers to create and store their own games. Blanks will be available from our pledge manager at $59 for each additional pack of 6 Blanks.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
